A Renaissance Theaterworks production showcasing new works by Midwestern women playwrights

September 7th and 8th, Renaissance Theaterworks hosted the Br!nk New Play Festival in the NO Studios Gallery. The group, who focuses on promoting the work of women onstage and off, performed resident plays including feature length readings as well as shorter 10 minute plays. 

Suzan Fete, Renaissance Theaterworks’ Artistic Director and featured playwright, Karen Saari discuss Saturday’s feature length staged reading, Rain on Fire. Ms. Saari’s Rain on Fire explores the concerns surrounding the struggles of addiction in light of the opioid crisis and life in the midwest. RTW’s “mission to create moving theater” was highlighted throughout the weekend with works that pushed for understanding and positivity as well as love and heartbreak.
