1. How do you describe yourself as an artist?
I would say I’m an artist who leads with joy, curiosity, integrity, authenticity, and am fiercely committed to telling stories that speak to my identity and culture.
2. What's the best part of your job?
The best part of my work is the opportunity to share my joy with everyone, to educate audiences on the legacy of the art form I represent, and to illuminate the artists who came before me. I get to bring their memory into my journey. I am my ancestors' wildest dreams.
3. What's the best advice that you can give to someone who is exploring your career?
Educate yourself. Be disciplined. Work with integrity. Stay open. Explore all of your creative potential.
4. What does socializing with purpose mean to you?
By staying present and staying in full gratitude with everyone I interact with, whether I know them or not.
