Browns Crew

Browns Crew is a Latin hip hop duo consisting of El Sebas & Cristo Paz, two artists whose music is influenced by their culture and experience as Mexicans. We share our visions and experiences in English and Spanish, often delve into heavy topics, and are known for infusing Caribbean sounds into our recordings and performances. In 2019, we were named a winner at Summerfest’s 2019 Emerging Artist Series and awarded Radio Milwaukee 88Nine’s 2019 Song of the Year for our single release, “Mil Aires”.

Their creative process encompasses writing through a journalistic lens that affirms realities and those of their community members. Browns Crew music draws attention to prevalent issues in their community, as well as aims to spread joy through their creative sound. Their work is closely connected to the roots of hip-hop, including unity, building up the community, empowering themselves and those around them, and telling their own stories. Hip-hop was birthed in the hood, and Browns Crew thinks of themselves as branches of that same tree, watering those roots and keeping those principles alive but also infusing their own thoughts, visions and experiences.
