On November 16th, the Fair Housing: Crossing Invisible Lines panel, featuring Eric Collins-Dyke, Peggy Rozga and Lavelle Young, discussed the historical landscape of housing rights protests, what has and is being done to further fair housing for all, and what obstacles lie ahead.

About Eric Collins-Dyke

Eric Collins-Dyke is the Homeless Outreach Services Manager for the Milwaukee County Housing Division. He oversees the Division’s homeless outreach efforts, Housing First initiative, Eviction Prevention Program, and HMO Housing Navigation pilots. Collins-Dyke has been with Milwaukee County for six years and prior to that was with the Guest House of Milwaukee. His recent work has focused on local policy changes to increase the use of Housing First principles in relation to homelessness throughout Milwaukee County.

About Margaret (Peggy) Rozga

Recently named Wisconsin Poet Laureate Dr. Margaret Rozga is an emeritus professor of English at the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee Waukesha campus. She creates poetry from her ongoing concern for social justice issues. She volunteered to work on a 1965 voter registration campaign in rural Alabama. She was a participant in Milwaukee’s marches for fair housing and later married civil rights leader, Father James Groppi.

About Lavelle Young

Lavelle Young is a proud Milwaukee native and a self starter. He is the Founder and CEO of Young Development Group, 
where he is leading the redevelopment of the Milwaukee Martin Luther King Jr. Library. He is passionate about economic 
empowerment, equitable economic development, and community wealth creation. In 2015, he was recognized as University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee’s Outstanding Student Leader of the 
Year for his leadership roles.
